MORE than 100 people took part in a beach clean-up campaign along the Natadola beach last week as part of InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa 2019 focus on community and sustainability in the Natadola Bay community.
Resort human resource manager Jacob Pau’u said “there was a lot of rubbish collected along the 2 kilometres beachfront and surrounding areas.
“It saddens us to see that this gift from nature is tarnished by day visitors and we implore everyone to be mindful and clean up after themselves when enjoying time at this beautiful location,” Mr Pau’u said.
“It’s been an exciting September for us so far at the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa. We are reconnecting with our natural environment, our local community and creating that quintessential relationship and understanding which are dear to us.”
Mr Pau’u said there would be community work engagement for local communities and this was just the start of more good things to come as part of the IHG True Hospitality for Good program.
One of two iconic Fijian hotels owned by the Fiji National Provident Fund (FNPF) and managed by InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa provides services that go beyond the world-renowned Fijian warmth and hospitality to give guests authentic, enriching experiences and insights into the Fijian culture and way of life.
